Throughout the day yesterday, I found myself struggling with bouts of emotional energy. Along with many others, I too mourned the lost of Nipsey Hussle. It wasn’t because I knew that much about him before his passing, but because of the things I’ve learned about him after his transition from this world that drew me to his spirit and is pushing me to learn more about the man, Ermias Joseph Asghedom, who touched the lives of so many during his short time on this earth.
You know they say you’re not supposed to die young, but what happens when you do? We’re all assigned a task and a timeline on this earth, some greater and longer than others, but no matter the length before your ultimate transition, the question I pose to you is, Will we still feel your vibe when you’re gone? In the words of Nipsey, “You only become the most valuable, when you drop value to.”
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are, what you’ve been through or even may be going through right now, Ermias’s passing is a reminder to us all to do the most good, to touch as many lives as we can, and use whatever gift God has given us to make a difference in this world, so that when you’re no longer here in the physical, the world still feels your vibe.
A hard pill to swallow is that sometimes you complete your assignment without reaping the reward. Sometimes your task is simply to be the messenger. Ermias your message has been received. Rest.
Sending love and light to the Asghedom family, to Lauren, friends, and fans who loved Nipsey.
It’s not over. Nipsey’s death is a call to action for us all… Ready, Set, MARATHON!
XOXO,
GIGI
