Last Thursday I had the pleasure of getting some much needed girl time in with my good Judy ( that means friend) and fellow blogger Samantha Matthews co-host of the podcast Duo-Lystic, and curator of the The Real Girlfriend Xperience. Together we attended The Winners Table hosted by Candace June from Epicfabgirls. This event was sponsored by Industrious St. Louis, and hosted at Industrious Dallas. The Winners Table is a creative think tank for ambitious women of faith, and featured an entrepreneurship and branding panel discussion. The targeted audience for this event were women of faith who are looking to grow their brand, business, or aspire to start a business.
The panel discussion was moderated by Beauty Creative, and host of Heart of the Matter, Tia Kirby. Featured panelist were bloggers and entrepreneurs Brittany from Fit by Brit, speaker, entrepreneur, author, and media personality Ashley Brown, known as Ashley Empowers, Kia Benion, also known as the Pastry Engineer, and local trailblazer recently featured in VoyageDallas, Amanda Muhammad from Mako Mindfulness. And of course, Candace June jumped in and gave us helpful tidbits as well!

The event opened up with a networking happy hour, which allowed attendees a few moments to mingle before taking their seats. Later, we prayed to kick the session off, and throughout the evening we listened to the panelist as they shared stories of sheer faith, obedience to God, and how to successfully position your business in order to grow your brand for long term sustainability. Attendees were able to ask the panelist questions, and were also given the opportunity to tell the room about their business or pitch their business idea, and get feedback from the audience and panelist.
L-I-S-T-E-N when I tell you that this event was EPIC, believe me when I say my edges were completely SNATCHED (Thanks D for this euphemism)! I was completely blown away by the panel discussion, as well as by all of the women in attendance. Lets face it, as women of faith, sometimes we really have a hard time trying to figure out ways that allow our faith and business to coexist together. Let alone attend business related events where God is at the front and center of the discussions taking place.
This type of event was a first for me and I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. Major kudos to Candace for listening to God and allowing him to work through her fears and walk purposefully in the calling he has over her life. I will definitely be on the lookout for more events from Epicfabgirls!
