MOTHER’S DAY:CELEBRATING THE WOMEN IN OUR LIVES

mom

In case it may have slipped your mind, Mother’s Day is this upcoming Sunday. I understand that not everyone may have experienced the most amazing relationship with their mother growing up or maybe even as an adult, but I’m hopeful that your life has in some way been inspired  by some special woman or women out there. If so, let her know just how much she means to you this Mother’s Day, and remember, it’s not always about buying gifts, or material things. Sometimes the things that don’t cost a thing, like a phone call just to say you care or taking a timeout of your ever busy life, just to spend a few hours in the presence of those you love, mean the MOST.

If you’re reading this, I challenge you to take some time before Sunday to write the woman who has helped you get through this thing called life, a heartfelt open later, letting her know just how much she means to you, and how much you appreciate having her in your life. Not only will it mean the world to the recipient of the letter, it will serve as a reminder to be thankful for the people in our lives whom we so often take for granted.

To those of you whose mother or mother figures are no longer with us in the physical, firstly, I extend a heartfelt hug to you and encourage you to still go through with this exercise if you can. Place your letter in a balloon and release it to the heavens in her honor this weekend, or find some way to celebrate the impact she made in your life that’s comfortable for you.

Not all mom’s birth us into this world…but it doesn’t mean they love us any less. Let us live a life of gratitude and thankfulness in honor of all the women and mothers who have impacted our lives.

If there is a special woman that has impacted your life for the better, give her a shoutout  in the comment section below!
